Connect a network printer

Check network reachability and stable addressing before changing FloCafe printer settings.

A network printer must be reachable from the device running FloCafe. Keep the POS device and printer on the intended trusted local network.

Requirements

  • Printer model and current network address.
  • Access to the local router or network settings.
  • Permission to run the printer’s own test page or status check.

Steps

  1. Confirm the printer is powered, loaded with paper, and connected to the intended network.
  2. Reserve a stable address for the printer in the network configuration you control.
  3. From the FloCafe device, confirm the printer address is reachable using the operating system’s normal network tools.
  4. In Settings → Printers, select or enter the matching network printer configuration.
  5. Run Test Print, then verify an order reaches the correct station.

Verify success

The printer remains reachable after reconnecting the network, and both test and real order output arrive without routing to another station.

Common errors

An address that changes, a guest network, firewall rules, wrong queue, or a printer in an error state can prevent output. Do not expose network credentials in a support request.
