Printer setup depends on the exact model, connection, queue, paper width, operating system, and FloCafe release. Record those details before changing a working service setup.
Requirements
- The printer model, paper width, connection type, and operating system.
- Access to the relevant printer queue or local network.
- FloCafe installed and a test order available.
Steps
- In FloCafe, open Settings → Printers.
- Select the exact queue or connection for receipt or kitchen output.
- For a network printer, reserve a stable address and confirm the FloCafe device can reach it on the trusted local network.
- For Windows USB output, use a queue that accepts raw ESC/POS output; a Generic / Text Only or manufacturer raw mode may work better than a page-rendering driver.
- On macOS and Linux, confirm the CUPS queue is enabled. Snap installations may need the documented raw-USB connection permission.
- Run Test Print, then place a small order and compare the receipt and KOT with the order.
Verify success
The test print is legible, the correct station receives the correct ticket, and a reprint or retry does not create an unexplained duplicate kitchen ticket.
Common errors
- Network printer is unreachable
- Printer is connected but does not print
- Printer says "Use Printer Offline"
- Paper, cover, queue, driver, or timeout failures: preserve the exact error and hardware details for support.
Scope
Applies to: FloCafe desktop printing workflows using the exact printer and operating-system combination you test. Compatibility is not implied for an untested model.
