Use this checklist to move from first launch to a tested order. Complete it on the same device, operating system, FloCafe release, and hardware you expect to use during service.
Requirements
- A packaged FloCafe release installed from the installation guide.
- Owner credentials and a controlled Master PIN.
- One receipt printer and kitchen output path if your workflow uses them.
- A small representative menu and a test payment method.
Steps
- Launch FloCafe and complete first-run owner setup.
- Add the restaurant name, tax configuration, categories, five common products, prices, and one modifier.
- Create a table or choose takeaway, then place a test order.
- Send the order to the kitchen, print the receipt and kitchen ticket, and record a cash or external-terminal test payment.
- Confirm the order, totals, taxes, payment method, and output agree in the relevant reports.
- Create a manual backup and copy it to owner-controlled storage. Rehearse restoration before live service.
Verify success
The order completes end to end, kitchen routing and receipts are correct, and a test installation can restore the backup. Repeat with the awkward order your staff handles most often.
Common errors and troubleshooting
If output is missing, use the printer guide. If the kitchen display does not update, use the KDS guide. Preserve the database and logs; do not delete application data as a first response.
Scope
Applies to: FloCafe packaged desktop releases on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Test the exact release and hardware before production.
